Description	:	Richard "Tubb" Lee Adamson, 77 of Ottumwa, Iowa passed away Friday March 25, 2016 at Walker Nursing home in Virginia, Illinois. Tubb was born September 23, 1938 in Ottumwa to Otto and Laura Muldoon Adamson. Tubb enlisted in the US Navy on September 29, 1955. Read More	Richard "Tubb" Lee Adamson, 77 of Ottumwa, Iowa passed away Friday March 25, 2016 at Walker Nursing home in Virginia, Illinois. Tubb was born September 23, 1938 in Ottumwa to Otto and Laura Muldoon Adamson. Tubb enlisted in the US Navy on September 29, 1955. On October 7, 1965, while stationed at Little Creek Amphibious Naval Station in Norfolk, Virginia he married Velma Louise "Lou" Cline. After serving his country for 21 years he retired from the US Navy on May 7, 1976 as a Personnelman First Class Petty Officer. Tubb returned to his hometown of Ottumwa, Iowa after his retirement. He attended training at Indian Hills Community College to become a "long haul" truck driver. He drove over the road for many years. However in 1990, Tubb and Lou decided to take on their passion of travel. From that day forward they traveled throughout the United States, where they made numerous friends. Surviving family members include, his wife, Lou Adamson, Virginia, Illinois; daughter Tracey (Joe) Musgrave of New Braunfels, Texas; their children Joseph Jr, and Emmy Lou Musgrave of New Braunfels, TX; step-daughter Susan (Mike) Carson, Virginia, Illinois; Susan's children Rhiannon Young of Salem, MA and Ryan Young of Tucson, AZ and step-son Mick Scantlen (Ginny Tapper) of Des Moines, Iowa and his three children, Christina and Brandy Scantlen of TN, and Brandon Sheets of IA, as well as two surviving sisters, Mary Jane Buck of Des Moines, Iowa and Betty Louise Miller of Ottumwa Iowa. Preceding him in death is his parents, Otto and Laura Adamson, sisters Genevieve and Mildred Adamson (Troxel), brothers Orville, Harold "Goph", and Otto "Pee Wee" Adamson. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Friday June 10, 2016 at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. Inurnment will be in Ottumwa Cemetery with military services conducted by O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Family members will be present 1 hour prior to services. After the inurnment, friends and family are invited to the VFW to celebrate Tubb's life. Reece Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Published on June 6, 2016 Ottumwa Courier
