He was self-employed, the owner of Becht Heating & Cooling for more than 40 years. The joy of his life was his family, the proud father of seven children, 25 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. He loved music, playing cards and games, camping with family, and keeping his lawn manicured. Richard is survived by his wife, the love of his life for 60 years, Mary (Missi) Becht; his children and spouses, Mike (Diane), Beverly Kiesler, Marcia (Mark) Ernstberger, Kenny (Shirley), Kevin (Tammy), Denise (Greg) Luckett, and Brenda (Mark) Lilly; and siblings and spouses, Lucille Missi, Phyllis Smallwood, Linda Steinbrenner, Sandy (Ralph) Pinnick. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arvil and Bea (Barr) Becht, and his brother, William R. Becht. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany.
