Description	:	Richard Maurice “Dick” Larsen, 84 years of age, of Loomis, Nebraska, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at his home. Dick was born on July 22, 1935 in Oxford, to Maurice and Edna (Bergsten) Larsen. Dick attended school in Atlanta and graduated from Mascot with the class of 1952 at the age of 16. Read More	Richard Maurice “Dick” Larsen, 84 years of age, of Loomis, Nebraska, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at his home. Dick was born on July 22, 1935 in Oxford, to Maurice and Edna (Bergsten) Larsen. Dick attended school in Atlanta and graduated from Mascot with the class of 1952 at the age of 16. Following his education Dick began a lifelong career working on local farms, he also spent his summers working the rice fields in California until he could join the Army at the age of 18. He was honorably discharged on April 30, 1963. On August 29, 1961, Dick was united in marriage to Janet Sprague when they eloped to Phillipsburg, Kansas. God blessed this union with three girls: Kristi, Vicki, and Heidi. Dick was an avid farmer growing milo, wheat, corn and alfalfa. You could regularly find him in the field baling hay or tending to his cattle. Dick took great pride serving on the Holdrege Co-Op Board. When he wasn’t in the field you could find Dick at a Husker football game or watching his kids and later grandkids participate in their activities. While farming Dick worked for BD for 10 years and later retired from there. Dick was a long-time member of the Atlanta Methodist church before becoming a member of First United Methodist Church in Holdrege. Besides his parents; Dick was preceded in death by two brothers: Kenneth Larsen and his wife Dora Lee, and Stanley Larsen; brothers-in-law: Wayne Naugle, and Charlie Leff. Dick leaves to celebrate his life; his wife, Janet of 57 years; three daughters: Kristi Larsen of Lincoln, Nebraska, Vicki Robinson and her husband Wade of Peru, Iowa, and Heidi Rademaker and her husband Brad of Loomis; 5 grandkids: Tyler Robinson and his wife Amber, Trevor Robinson and his wife Melissa, Ashley Baker and her husband Landon, Brooke Wohlgemuth and her husband Colby, and Kyle Rademaker and his wife Paige; 7 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
