Description	:	It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Richard Morton Craig Jan 25, 2022 at the QEII Infirmary surrounded by family. Born in St Stephen NB on Dec 22, 1948. He was the son of the late Florence and George Craig of Caithness NB. Richard is survived by his wife Janet (Grant) of 50 years and his children Kyle (Krista King), daughter Kelly and granddaughter Rosealie Craig with whom he shared a special bond, sister Helen (Peter) Inman, sister-in-Law Elaine Craig, brothers-in-law Allan (Marg) Grant and Maynard (Anne) Grant and several nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Florence and George Craig of Caithness NB. Richard is survived by his wife Janet (Grant) of 50 years and his children Kyle (Krista King), daughter Kelly and granddaughter Rosealie Craig with whom he shared a special bond, sister Helen (Peter) Inman, sister-in-Law Elaine Craig, brothers-in-law Allan (Marg) Grant and Maynard (Anne) Grant and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings Manfred, John, Miles, Marion (Goodrich), Douglas, Arnold, as well as several nieces and nephews. Richard was hard working from the time he was a child taking on a lot of the responsibility of running the family farm. He graduated from the St John Institute of Technology as an Engineering Technologist and furthered his education at Saint Mary's University in Halifax. Richard had an extensive career as an Engineering Technologist in concrete, asphalt and materials. He was a Quality, Development and Technical Services Manager for several companies in Canada and internationally. He started his career in Halifax NS, testing and building highways with Maritime Testing and the Department of Transportation. Richard worked at Shaw Resources as a Research and Development Manager, developing markets for fly ash and other products. He also established his own professional consulting company, Craig Civil Technology Service in 1999. He worked with several companies across Canada moving first to Vancouver Island (Pennecon), then to Grande Prairie , AB (Knelsen Sand and Gravel), and finishing his career in Cold Lake, AB (Accurate Concrete and Superior Concrete Pumping). He provided technical services for numerous concrete plants while working for those companies. Richard had a number of large projects that he was particularly proud of in his career such as Confederation Bridge PEI, Rapid Transit RAV line in Vancouver, Grande Prairie Hospital, Grain Elevators in Saskatchewan, Wind Mills and Mine development in Saskatchewan. He was highly regarded in the construction industry and was President of TechNova from 1974-1983, and a voting member on Canadian Standards Association for developing Concrete Standards from 1990-1998. Richard was a car enthusiast and in his retirement, he enjoyed refurbishing his antique Jaguar. He loved photography and documenting family history with pictures. He was an avid reader and always had a mystery novel on the go.
