Interment was in I.O.O.F. cemetery. Mr. Willett, a lifelong resident of the Brooklyn community, died Tuesday morning of last week at his home in Brooklyn following a lingering illness. Richard Perry Willett, youngest son of William C. and Eliza Adams Willett, was born in Warren township, Poweshiek county, Feb. 15, 1879, and died June 10, 1958. At an early age he became a member of St. Mark's Episcopal church in Brooklyn. He was married to Florence E. Robeson Feb. 26, 1908, and one daughter, Mrs. Maynard (Frances) McLain was born to the couple. The family farmed near Brooklyn until 1918 at which time they moved to their present home in Brooklyn. The couple observed their golden wedding anniversary in February of this year. Mr. Willett was a 50-year member of the I.O.O.F. and Rebekah lodges. Survivors include his widow; his daughter, Mrs. Maynard McLain of Brooklyn; two grandsons, Roger of Greenville, Miss. and William, at home; three great-grandchildren, Kurt, Kyle and Kaye McLain and one sister, Mrs. Effie Baker of Eugene, Ore. Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Art and Neal Willett, and two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Robey and Mrs. Clara Fraser, all of Brooklyn.
