Description	:	Richard Eltjes, of Grant Township, a well known and popular resident of that vicinity, died at his home on Sunday at two o'clock, after a brief illness. Few of his friends were aware of his illness and news of his death came as a shock to them. It is learned that Mr. Eltjes suffered an Internal Injury about six weeks ago while helping on threshing operations. Read More	Richard Eltjes, of Grant Township, a well known and popular resident of that vicinity, died at his home on Sunday at two o'clock, after a brief illness. It is learned that Mr. Eltjes suffered an Internal Injury about six weeks ago while helping on threshing operations. The injury was regarded as slight at the time and Mr. Eltjes never mentioned the circumstance to his family and friends. Richard Eltjes was born near Ackley, Iowa, on November 19, 1872, and when he was four years old his parents moved to Plymouth County and located on a farm in Grant Township, where he spent his life. Since the death of his father many years ago he lived with his mother and brother and they conducted the farm. The deceased never married. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Waltje Eltjes; his brother, John Eltjes, and by his four sisters, Mrs. John Weyen, Mrs. Minnie McGillvray, Mrs. M. Gerdes, of this county, and Mrs. John Schluter, of near Wolsey, S.D. The funeral will be held this (Tuesday) afternoon at the home of John Weyen and the interment made in the Grant township cemetery. Dick Eltjes was well known to a large number of people. He was of a hospitable, jovial nature and had a bluff, cheery manner. He was a hard worker and a good farmer and will be missed in his home vicinity and elsewhere by many. The pallbearers at his funeral were old friends of his and are Harm Rohlfs, H.W. Ommen, U.
