Richard "Rich" Marousek passed peacefully on March 3, 2018, after a one-year battle against lung cancer. Richard "Rich" Marousek passed peacefully on March 3, 2018, after a one-year battle against lung cancer. Rich was born June 13, 1947, in Sioux City, Iowa, to parents Leslie and Margaret Van Hougten Marousek. Rich attended grade school in Sioux City, moved with his family to Fairmont, MN, in 1956, and moved to Spencer, Iowa, with his family in 1958. He attended Sacred Heart elementary school and Spencer High School graduating in 1966. Rich then attended Iowa State University and graduated in 1972 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Rich was a member of the Minnesota and Iowa National Guard and served our country for six years. In 1973 Rich moved to St. Paul, MN and began his life long career as an engineer at Sperry/Univac in Rosesville, MN. He spent 36 years at Sperry through all the corporate changes and retired in 2009. Rich was a kind and generous man who shared his electrical and carpentry skills. Whenever anyone needed a helping hand, he was there. He helped build decks, refinish basements, and expand garages. His analytical mind was a great asset. He was loved and will be missed.
