Mr. Tynan had partially recovered from his illness of a few months ago and his sister remarked that he seemed to feel better than usual that morning. His sudden death was caused by heart failure, stated Dr. Carpenter, Coroner, who was called. Richard Tynan, oldest son of Thomas and Rosanna Smith Tynan, was born at Kewanee, Illinois, November 1870 and departed this life at his home in Mitchellville on March 31st, 1933, aged 62 years, 7 months and 11 days. He had been in failing health some time and the past few months his condition was considered serious, but his sudden passing came as a great shock to his relatives and friends. Richard had lived in Mitchellville and vicinity most of his life. A carpenter by trade, he was well known in other localities. He was a member of the Catholic Church of Colfax, also of the Order of Woodmen. A steadfast friend and a kind neighbor, he will be missed in the community of which he has been so many years a member. He leaves two sisters, Margaret Tynan of Mitchellville and Mrs. Lena Maher of Colfax, also six neices and four nephews to mourn his loss. His parents, two sisters and one brother have proceeded him to the great beyond. His funeral was largely attended Monday forenoon at the Church of Immaculate Conception in Colfax, Rev. Father Staunton officiating.
