DIED - On Monday afternoon, 13th instant, after a sickness of four weeks, Richard W. Boylston, youngest son of Richard and Mary Boylston, and of the firm of Boylston & Fletcher, aged 26 years. By this event these parents and nine surviving children, are brought to experience the peculiar bitterness attending the first death in a family. As a son and a brother, the deceased was endeared to them by an affectionate and filial temper and those exhibitions of considerate kindness which contribute most to the happiness of life. By his associates in business he was highly valued for his integrity and the generous virtues. Modest and unassuming in his disposition, he was retiring in his manners, and saught the preferment of his companions more than his own. During the short period in which he was engaged in the business of a merchant, he constantly gained in the esteem and confidence of the community. They found him discreet without narrowness, and public spirited without ostentation; while by those who best knew him he was most beloved. In the judgment which he expressed of himself he was not a religious man, though he honored the institutions and valued the hopes of the gospel. To a near friend he had frequently spoken of the necessity of repentance for sin, and of his personal need of an interest in the merits of the Saviour. Similar sentiments were expressed during his sickness. But he has gone from us in the pride of his early manhood, while the dew of his youth was upon him. The community mourn the loss of an enterprising and generous man, and his parents a son whom they fondly hoped would be a solace and support in their old age.
