O. Mardorf, in the Wayne Lutheran church. Mrs. Rieken submitted to a a surgical operation for appendicitis, a week before her death, but there were other complications which hastened her demise. O. Mardorf, in the Wayne Lutheran church. Mrs. Rieken submitted to a a surgical operation for appendicitis, a week before her death, but there were other complications which hastened her demise. She was born at Hesel, Germany, August 19, 1863, and was married to the husband, who survives her, at Marx, in September, 1888. She came to America in 1887, and the family spent two years in Wayne township, and thereafter lived in Scotch Grove. Mrs. Rieken is survived by three daughters, who live near Onslow. They are, Mrs. Gerd Behnken, Mrs. Julius Marxsen and Mrs. Dirk Harms. Two sons, John and William, are at home. She was a sister of John Brokens, of Langwortby. Two brothers, who reside in Nebraska, were in attendance at the funeral.
