Description	:	Rick was a guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. He was also part of the Presidential Honor Guard. Rick L. Hartman, 59, of Wahoo died Wednesday Aug. 8, 2012, at Saunders Medical Center in Wahoo. Rick was born July 24, 1953, in Ainsworth to Raymond R. and Lois E. (Race) Hartman. The family moved from Ainsworth to Beemer, where Rick graduated high school. He joined the U.S. Army and served from Aug. 28, 1972, to Aug. 27, 1976, during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he returned to Beemer. Rick married Roxanne R. Mozer on April 15, 1978, in Tilden. The couple moved to Grand Island, where Rick worked as an United States Postal Service employee. They later moved to Comstock, where he was the Post Master, and then they moved to Colon, where he was the Post Master. Rick and Roxanne had been living at Wahoo for the last two years. Rick was a member of Colon American Legion Post 265, the Colon Volunteer Fire Department and the Grand Island Army National Guard Unit. He also was a member of Pohocco Lutheran Church south of Fremont. Survivors include: his wife, Roxanne; sons, Jereme Ray Hartman (and wife, Tamina) of Boys Town, Matthew Arland Hartman (and girlfriend, Nicole Moore) of Lincoln and Jon William Hartman of Fremont; brothers, Randy Hartman (and wife, Stephanie) of Valley and Rob Hartman (and wife, Diane) of Plattsmouth; sisters, Roxy Matthes (and husband, Layne) of Wisner and Raschelle Menghini (and husband, Troy) of Lincoln; sister-in-law, Jill Hartman of Sundance, Wyo.; and two grandchildren, Keagan and Brodrick Hartman of Boys Town. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Rolland Hartman; and granddaughter, Esperanza Hartman. The memorial service will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the American Legion Hall in Beemer with the Rev. Rodney Armon officiating. Military honors will be conducted by members of American Legion Post 265 of Colon. Memorials may be sent to the Colon Volunteer Fire Department, Colon American Legion Post 265, or Pohocco Lutheran Church, Fremont. Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
