Description	:	R. V. Shaw, 80, died at 2:28 a.m. Monday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Leach in Norfolk. He suffered a stroke of paralysis on Saturday and he died from its effects. His wife is past 80 and she is critically ill. They were married 59 years ago. He was a native of Tennessee and with his mother in 1844 went to Missouri. The 2 daughters are Mrs. A. M. Leach and Miss Frances Shaw both at Norfolk. The funeral was held Thursday. After the death of his father while he was still a child, Ridley's mother, Artamisa (DeMoss) Shaw, moved with her children to Saline County, Missouri, where other members of her family lived. Ridley and his brothers, Joseph and John, and possibly a sister named Obedience, remained in Missouri for about ten years. In the early 1850's, Ridley and his brother Joseph settled in Mills County. On September 28, 1852 married Louisa Ellen Morrow, daughter of James and Mary (Polly) Morrow. Ridley and Louisa had nine children, six of whom were still alive in 1900: James , John, Joseph, Charles Nelson, Frances Cordelia, Robert Ridley, Sarah, Ann Maria(h?), and Shadric.
