On February 18, 1892, he was united in marriage to Jennie Fleharty. R.B. and Jennie were among the early settlers in Pleasanton. To this union were born two children, Hazel Stevenson Claus and Helen Hunter. Both daughters preceded their father in death. Their children were cared for by Jennie and R.B. R. B. was a resident of Buffalo county for forty years. He and his brother, D. Wort had grain elevators in Pleasanton and Poole. R. B. also had a garage and sold the first cars in the Pleasanton area. He departed this life on the seventeenth day of October, 1935, at the age of 70 years, 6 months and 23 days. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife; three grandchildren, Belva Claus, Jack and June Hunter; three brothers, D. Wort of Kearney, Hamilton of Lander, Wyoming, and Steve of Jackson, Wyoming; two sisters, Clara of Los Angeles, California, and Zora of Salt Lake City, Utah; and numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Mr. Wort was always interested in the civic affairs of the town, acting as the mayor and also a member of the town board. He was also a member of the Masonic order, in which he was held in high esteem.
