Burial will be at a later date In the Woodbine Cemetery, Woodbine, Iowa. Riley McHenry was born September 4, 1913, to Charles William and Ethel May (Deupree) McHenry in Lincoln Township near Woodbine, Iowa. He attended Woodbine Community Schools. Riley was united in marriage to Alyce Marie Axtell on May 1, 1933 in Missouri Valley. Three children, Norma Jean, Richard Riley and Mary Patricia, were born to this union. The couple farmed until 1953, then Riley began working for the Harrison County REC. Alyce died May 10, 1959. after surgery. On January 2, 1960, he married Iris Fern Rudolph. In the late 1960's they moved to Council Bluffs. Riley worked as a janitor at Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson High School, at Jennie Edmondson Hospital, a bank and an apartment complex. The couple moved to Rose Vista in the fall of 1993. Besides his first wife. Riley was preceded In death by his son, Richard, on October 15, 1993; and a half~sister, Nora Marie Deupree, on July 24, 1991. Survivors include his wife Iris of Woodbine; two daughters, Norma Jean Barry, and Mary Patricia and husband James Grimsley, Sr. all of Woodbine; one step~daughter, Shirley and husband Lyle Andrew of Bella Vista, AR: one sister, Rachel Mary Davis of Dunlap; 12 grandchildren; 13 great~grandchildren: and several nieces and nephews.
