BERT FRANCIS: Following an illness of five months, Rilla Mae Silk, beloved wife of Mr. Bert Francis, passed away to rest at her home on No. 10 Highway, north of Corbetton, on Wednesday, April 24th. The deceased, who was in her 44th year, was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Silk. She lived her entire life in Melancthon Township. BERT FRANCIS: Following an illness of five months, Rilla Mae Silk, beloved wife of Mr. Bert Francis, passed away to rest at her home on No. 10 Highway, north of Corbetton, on Wednesday, April 24th. The deceased, who was in her 44th year, was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Silk. She lived her entire life in Melancthon Township. Twenty-one years ago she was married to Bert Francis, who survives, together with one daughter, Jean, and three sons, Robert, Vernon and Lorne. One brother, William Silk, of Toronto, also survives. Mrs. Francis was a faithful member of the United Church, teaching a Sunday School class and playing the church organ for a number of years. After a short service on Saturday at the home, the service was held in the Corbetton United Church and was ably conducted by Rev. Ross Muir, pastor of the Corbetton circuit. The pall-bearers were: Messrs. Aylmer Jack. George Cabinaw, Harold Oldfleld, Clarence Lonsway, Ross Irving and Urquhart McCosh. The floral tributes included: Broken Circle, the Family; Pillows, Brother and wife; Mr. and Mrs. G. Pallister, Mr. and Mrs. J. Pallister and Mr. and Mrs. C. Oldfleld, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Irving; Mr. and Mrs. John A. McMIllan; Corsage, Mr. and Mrs. S. Reddick; Sprays -S.S. No.6, 13, and 15 Melancthon; Neighbors -Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Francis and family; Aunts and Uncles; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Donald; Corbetton Women's Institute; Mrs. John Francis, sons and daughters; Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Mills; Mr. and Mrs. G. Anderson and Velma. The flower-bearers were Fred and George Silk. Art Shubrook. David and Alvin Francis, Bruce and Jim Lonsway, Morris Oldfield, Fred Teeter, Ken McCosh.
