Rita Carolyn Kirschman was born to Louis and Margaret Schurmann on March 20, 1930, in Watertown, South Dakota. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1947. Rita Carolyn Kirschman was born to Louis and Margaret Schurmann on March 20, 1930, in Watertown, South Dakota. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1947. After graduation she moved to Sioux Falls, where she worked full-time in the accounting office at John Morrell. She also worked part-time at Lewis Drug. Rita was united in marriage to Bob Kirschman on October 13, 1952 at the St. Joseph Cathedral. She continued to work until their first child, Patrick, was born in 1954. In the following years Rita and Bob had five more children, Michael, Jean, Sharil, Sheila and Lynn. She kept very busy as a homemaker raising 6 kids. Rita loved to play cards and she was a voracious reader. Through the years her generosity was exhibited in many ways. She hosted many people at her house when they needed a place to stay, making meals for them and putting together care packages. In her later years she held annual family rummage sales where she enjoyed talking to the people that stopped by who, like her, were always looking for a bargain. Rita was a member of Christ the King church. Grateful for having shared her life are her children Patrick Kirschman, Sioux Falls, SD, Michael (Dawn) Kirschman, Garland, TX, Jean Kirschman, Foley, MN, Sharil (Lyle) Kirschman-Rollag, Beaver Creek, MN, Sheila (Rodger) Ellingson, Sioux Falls, SD, Lynn (Joel) Schreurs, Canton, SD. Grateful for having shared her life are her grandchildren, Daniel Kirschman, Thomas Rollag, Jessica Merriman, Jaclyn Schreurs, Alaina Rollag, Sean Rollag, Austin Schreurs and Charlie Ellingson.
