(Massey) Carey Wetzler, 91, of 368 West Ridge Road, Cornville, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, at Cedar Ridge Rehab and Living Center following a brief illness. She leaves her loving husband, Elliott. Rita was born April 12, 1920, in Plaster Rock, New Brunswick. She was the daughter of the late Maryann (Thibodeau) and Louis Massey of Waterville. She was a supervisor at Allied Control in Southington, Conn., for many years, returning to Maine after retiring. She was the beloved wife of Elliott E. Wetzler for 62 years. She leaves her loving husband, Elliott. Rita was born April 12, 1920, in Plaster Rock, New Brunswick. She was the daughter of the late Maryann (Thibodeau) and Louis Massey of Waterville. She was a supervisor at Allied Control in Southington, Conn., for many years, returning to Maine after retiring. She was the beloved wife of Elliott E. Wetzler for 62 years. She also leaves her loving dog, Pepe. She is survived by her daughter, Renee Irene, and husband Paul Pryor, of Wolcott, Conn.; and sons Steve Carey of Solon, Ronald Carey and wife Marion of Stafford Springs, Conn., and Eugene Carey and wife Charlene of Skowhegan. She leaves 22 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, Donald Massey, and his wife, Pat, of Winslow; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Arthur L. Carey Jr.; her brothers, Steve, Nelson, George, Alfred, Leo and John Massey; and her sisters, Margaret Stewart and Irene Brown. Burial will be held at the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta. (Morning Sentinel 10/15/2011)
