Read More	RITA L. HALEY FORT FAIRFIELD - Mrs. Rita L. Haley, 90, wife of Ralph "Bud" Haley, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, at a Presque Isle healthcare facility, following a brief illness. She was born July 6, 1913, at Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Earl and Louise (Shannon) Hill. She was a graduate of Fort Fairfield High School and was married to Ralph "Bud" Haley on Nov. 21, 1934. A lifelong resident of Fort Fairfield, Rita was a member of the United Parish Church and enjoyed knitting and crocheting many crafts, especially afghans. She was an avid gardener and was very proud of the flowerbeds that adorned their home. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and an extremely devoted wife, spending much of her time with her beloved husband, "Bud." In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia A. Lee, in 1999; five brothers, Roy, Earl Jr., Ralph, Harris and Donald Hill; four sisters, Alta Haines, Eva White, Elizabeth Seeley and Abby Kingsley. She is survived by her husband of 69 years of Fort Fairfield; one son, Fred Haley and his wife, Betty, of Ashland; two daughters, Claire Gill of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Gloria Kilcollins and her husband, Richard, of Fort Fairfield; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The Haley family wishes to thank the doctors and staff of the Aroostook Medical Center - AR Gould Maternity and Special Care Units for the outstanding care provided to Rita during her hospitalization. Friends may call 12 noon until 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at the United Parish Church, 4 Church St., Fort Fairfield, where a funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Diane Langworthy officiating. Interment will take place at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield, later in the spring. A time of fellowship with refreshments will be held at the United Parish Church Vestry immediately following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Haley to the United Parish Church Memorial Fund, care of Joyce Plant, 45 Brunswick Ave., Fort Fairfield, 04742. Envelopes will be available at the church.
