Read More	* IN LOVING MEMORY OF * Rita Joan "Mrs. George" & "Aunt Jo" (Woodward) Murty was born on September 23, 1931 in Marshalltown; Marshall County, Iowa. She was the daughter of: Harley and Doris A. (Wilson) Woodward. Joan attended school in Eli; Elbert County, Colorado and graduated from the Marshalltown High School. She married her lifelong partner George LaVerne Murty on October 20, 1956. Joan worked at Lennox Industries from the time she graduated high school until she retired in 1996. She will best be remembered by her family and loved ones for her never ending love and giving. Joan loved helping others and playing piano at her church, the Wesleyan Methodist. She will be remembered and greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Mrs. Murty was involved in her community as a Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center volunteer, participated in various bowling leagues, a member of the Lennox Lennettes- a women's organization working on the community. Rita Joan "Mrs. George" Murty, A.K.A. Joan, Jo, Aunt Jo and My Little Guinea, age 73, passed away on Saturday; March 5, 2005 at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Her passing came peacefully at 10:05 A.M. while surrounded by her family and God's love. Those left to mourn her passing are: Her husband: George. her sister: Lois Anksorus of Granger; Saint Joseph County, Indiana. Her sisters-in-law: June Murty, Millie Woodward of Conrad; Grundy County, Iowa. Carolyn Woodward of Moravia; Appanoose County, Iowa and Helen Willey of Marshalltown, Iowa. Her in-laws: Lester Murty of Beaflower; Los Angeles County, California. Donna and Leonard Klenk of Covina; Los Angeles County, California. As well as precious nieces and nephews who will remember her as "Aunt Jo." She was preceded in death by her parents: Harley and Arlene Woodward, and her brothers: Jerry and Jim Woodward. Heaven is rejoicing another saint has come home! May they rest in peace. Visitation will be from: 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday; March 7, 2005 at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at: 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday; March 8, 2005 also at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Marietta Cemetery in Marietta; Marshall County, Iowa.
