Kaiser, 72, of Anamosa, formerly of Holy Cross and Dyersville, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at the Anamosa (Iowa) Care Center, following an extended illness. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Anamosa, with the Rev. Carl Manternach officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Earlville. She attended school in Buckcreek. She married Alfred Kaiser in 1951 at St. John's Catholic Church, Delhi. Al and Rita farmed until 1966. They then moved to Dyersville. Rita worked at JC Penny in Dyersville and sold Avon products. They then moved to Anamosa and Fayette. Upon Al's retirement, they moved back to Anamosa. Rita also operated Rita's Ceramics in Anamosa, where she taught ceramics. Rita had a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed her family and teaching ceramics. Surviving are two sons, Doug (Mary), of Worthington, and Kevin (Norma), of Anamosa; two daughters, Chris (Jerry) Holtz, of Madison, Wis., and Connie (Phillip Brock) Kaiser, of Dundee, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Cyril Schultz, of Manchester; and several brothers and sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Al, in 1996; three brothers, Virgil, Eldon and Lawrence; and a sister, Orvetta. A Rita M. Kaiser Memorial Fund has been established.
