Rita passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, NE. Rita was born May 18, 1928, on the family farm rural Dodge, NE to Emil and Anna (Vogltance) Maresh. She attended St. Wenceslaus School and graduated from Dodge High School in 1946. On August 25, 1953, she was united in marriage to Paul J. Spenner at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge, NE. The couple farmed west of West Point until retiring in 2008. Paul passed away on March 6, 2008. Rita remained on the farm until moving into West Point in December of 2012. Rita was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, its Ladies Guild, and sang in the funeral choir for a number of years. She enjoyed embroidery, vegetable gardening, baking, traveling and reading. Survivors include her children, Tom Spenner of Boise, ID, Kathleen and husband James Boehringer of Yukon, OK, Mike and wife Ginny Spenner of Missoula, MT, Diane and husband Stan Spomer of Elizabeth, CO, Mark and wife Linda Spenner of West Point, NE, John and wife Ginger Spenner of Bellevue, NE, Bob and wife Carol Spenner of West Point, NE, Elaine and husband Loren Ruskamp of Firth, NE, and Jackie and husband Roger Hansen of Boise, ID, Grandchildren- Adam Spenner, Autumn Spomer, Josh Spomer, Trevor Spenner, Shelby Spenner, April Thomas and son Cayden, Dustin Spenner, Maria and husband Korey Janata, Aaron Spenner, Nicholas Ruskamp, Austin Ruskamp, Mackenzie Ruskamp, Mariah Hansen, and Katie Hansen, brother-Richard and wife Alice Maresh of Dodge, NE, and sister- Mary Ann and husband Louis Bohaboj of Dodge, NE. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister-Audrey Ptacek, and granddaughter, Tara.
