She was united in marriage Dec 25, 1904, to Reese Enix. She died with that dread disease consumption. No fear of death, before her, she bid each one goodbye, telling them she was ready and willing to go. She quietly neared the dark stream and was transported to reward in glory, leaving kind affectionate husband and a little son, mother, four brothers and two sisters, with aching hearts, watching as she passed to be on to join the loved ones gone before. It seems sad that one so young should be taken away from what seems to be a life of usefulness but earth cannot retain the treasures all. They must heed the master’s call while needed here. A Master hand has planned the way, then why should we ask them to stay, or shed a tear? But rather say, “Thy will be done.” Mrs. Enix was woman of a loving disposition, a kind neighbor and a warm friend, and her presence will be sadly missed not only by her family but by the entire community in which she resided. She was patient, throughout her sickness and everything was done that could be done but all of no avail. The funeral services were conducted at Nauvoo schoolhouse, Sunday afternoon, August 27, at 2 o'clock and was largely attended. Rev. Frank Ferguson, of Rensselaer, preached inappropriate sermon. The pallbearers were Mesdames Frank Eldridge, Will Hintz, Charles Davis, Misses Goldie Bott, Maddie Heltzel, and Effie Stamp. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. In that great celestial stillness and seclusions, By guardian angels led, safe from temptation, safe from sin’s pollution. She lives whom we call dead. -Monon News 1 Sept 1905
