Description	:	Feb. 28, 1920-May 18, 2012 Bob Hein of Billings went peacefully to his eternal reunion with his wife, Frances (Rogers) Hein; his daughter, Judy (Hein) Blevins; and his two grandsons, Tom and Bob Blevins. Bob was the oldest of five boys and three girls born in Billings to Alex and Mary Hein. Bob was the oldest of five boys and three girls born in Billings to Alex and Mary Hein. He is survived by his brother Marvin and sister Phyllis both of Austin, Texas; his brothers Russell and Gary, both of Billings; his son-in-law Tom Blevins, and his wife Diane of Billings; his great-grandchildren Megen and Connor Blevins, and their mother, Terri Blevins, all of Billings. Bob attended Billings Schools but took a job with Northern Pacific RR just short of his graduation in order to help support his family. Apart from the time he spent in the Army overseas in WWII, he worked more than 40 years for the railroad. After the service he returned to Billings and the railroad and physically built his own home for his family of three. Bob was a constantly busy man. He loved working on cars and trucks. He was a terrific gardener with a large plot from which he shared generously with family and friends. He even took a little time occasionally to hunt birds and fish for trout. He taught himself to play the violin and accordion and in his younger years would play with his uncles and dad at German weddings. He had a strong sense of responsibility and a sly, teasing spirit which stayed with him to the very end. In the past several years he has been a very satisfied resident at Autumn Springs Assisted Living where he charmed the girls, enjoyed the food and service, and danced when the music played. The family is grateful to Doris Backus and all the staff at Autumn Springs for the loving care and support Bob enjoyed there. The family is also grateful to Doctors Sachs, McGuire, and Melzer at Billings Clinic for the good, compassionate care he received from them and their staff. Bob's favorite charity was the Disabled American Veterans organization. Anyone wishing to offer a memorial is encouraged to send it to the DAV or another Veteran's organization. Graveside services with military honors will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Mountview Cemetery.
