However, nothing made him happier or filled him more with pride than his wife, children, grandkids and great-grandkids. Robert Albert Faimon of Blue Hill, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Heritage Care Center in Red Cloud at the "young" age of 84 years. At his side were family members to ease his pain of leaving this worldly earth. Rosary will be held Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 7:30 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church South of Lawrence. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stephen's Catholic Church with Father Thomas Schultes officiating. Burial is in St. Stephen's Catholic Cemetery with Military Rites by Kent Kailey Post 45 of Lawrence. Visitation: 3 - 9 p.m. Thursday, June 1, and 8 - 9:45 a.m. on Friday, June 2, at the Lawrence Visitation Chapel in Lawrence. There will not be a viewing at the church. A memorial will be determined by the family at a later date. Bob was born on June 20, 1932 to Rudolph F. and Marie J (Dolnicek) Faimon near Lawrence in Webster County. He attended 4-Corners Grade School and graduated from Lawrence Public High School in 1951. After graduation he worked on the family farm and raised tame rabbits for family meals. He was drafted into the Army and was active from January 27, 1953 to December 15, 1954. The Korean War Peace Treaty was declared while at sea on the journey to Korea. He continued to Korea to help with the aftermath of the war. Bob was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church and the Lawrence American Legion. He was a lifetime farmer. One of his loves was sports. The family had many football games in the evenings and on Sundays. One of his favorite sayings was, "if you can touch it, you can catch it." Robert and Maureen F. (Menke) Faimon were married on January 31, 1956 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. They were blessed with 8 children, 29 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; Brother, Charles; Sister & Brother-in-law, Rita & LaVern Kohmetscher, Sister, Margaret Faimon; Brother-in-law, LaVern Menke; Brother & Sister-in-laws, LeRoy & Dorothy "Dottie" menke, and Lois Menke. (Other deceased relatives listed below). Bob is survived by his wife, Maureen of Blue Hill; Children Ben, decd & Jolene Faimon-Mazour (Leonard), Lawrence, Jenny & Matt Utecht, Marcus & Gracy; Mike & Stacy Faimon, Josie & Cooper; Sara & Jason Meents; Layna, Cali & Bryn; Dr. Jeffrey & Mindy Faimon, Grady, Kash & Lawsyn; Cheryl Faimon Willis (Lindon Willis, Sr. decd) of San Antonio, TX; Calvin & Charmaine Faimon; Jessica; Yvonne Walker; Lindon, Jr., Londyn; and Demetrius; Connie & Gary Buescher of Prior Lake, MN, Alyssa, Samantha and Tyler; DeAnn "Dee" & Don "Dragger" Kohmetscher of Deweese; Paula & Gary Kohmestcher of Blue Hill; Kellie & Adam Gilbert, Holden & Brecken; Page & Ryna Danehey, Alivia; Brett Kohmetscher & Fiancè Makenzie Shank; Desira & Logan Schardt, Bryndal.
