Description	:	Robert "Bob" Allen Jay, 86, of Wenatchee, was born on Aug. 22, 1913 in Ruby, WI. He departed this mortality to be with our Father in Heaven on June 5, 2000. He moved to Washington State in 1940. When asked how he settled in Wenatchee, dad said they were headed west and ran out of money and had to go to work. II, serving in the Pacific theater as part of the ground support crew.... Read More	Robert "Bob" Allen Jay, 86, of Wenatchee, was born on Aug. 22, 1913 in Ruby, WI. He departed this mortality to be with our Father in Heaven on June 5, 2000. He moved to Washington State in 1940. When asked how he settled in Wenatchee, dad said they were headed west and ran out of money and had to go to work. He stayed here for the remainder of his days, except for a stint in the Army Air Force, enlisting in February 1942 until the end of W.W. II, serving in the Pacific theater as part of the ground support crew. He was honorably discharged in 1945. Dad and his brother, Lloyd, went to work in the logging industry. He met and married Lois Watson McPherron, helping to raise her two sons and daughter. They were blessed with two more sons and another daughter. In 1962, he joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a year later took his wife and young family to the Cardston Temple to be sealed for time and all eternity for which we will be eternally grateful. He served as ward clerk, a stake missionary and in the genealogy library. Dad loved to hunt and fish and in later years started gold panning to be in the woods that he loved so much. He loved to play fiddle with his dad and brothers, and played with the Old Time Fiddlers here in the valley. Dad would never forgive us if we didn't mention how much he loved baseball. Atlanta Braves, Seattle Mariners, and he was looking forward to seeing our new Apple Sox. Go team! Besides logging, dad worked for the City of Wenatchee, worked on the construction of Rocky Reach and Wells Dam. Dad was a friend to all who came into his life. He is survived by three stepchildren, Robert McPherron and Rylee McPherron, both of California and Phyllis Pierson of Florida; his two sons. Allen and Lewy, and daughter, Kerry, all of Wenatchee; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, with one grandson and one grandson-in-law serving in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois in 1998. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2000 at Evergreen Memorial Park with Bishop Richard Bennion officiating. Viewing will be held Thursday from noon until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the L.D.S. Church Genealogy Society. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
