Mr Robert Andrew Hendrix, age 36 years 7 months and 29 days. Mr Hendrix was born in Gordon County, Georgia, but moved with his step-father, Mr. E. D Tate and family, when quite a child, near this place where they had since resided. It was near here that he attended school and spent his boyhood days. It was here his friends were made and his character formed. When only a boy his was quite and unassuming always deferential to the feelings of others. He was honest and truthful. Ten years before his death, liking six days he married Ophelia Gertrude Harlow, only daughter of Mr. B. Harlow, one of our oldest and most highly respected citizens. With her he lived pleasantly till his death. A good citizens and kind neighbor has gone from our midst, and his place will not soon be filled. He leaves his wife, five children, an aged mother, step-father, two brothers an a sister and many others to mourn their loss. - Peace to his ashes. Obit provided by Mary Ann Poore (I transcribed because it was not readable) NOTE: Mary Ann stated that the OBIT stated survived by 5 children it was really only 4, because Annie had died 3 years earlier.
