Mr. Armstrong died at the infirmary last Saturday. Funeral services were conducted at the homs of his son, Kize Armstrong, northeast of town, conducted by Rev. F. E. Moseley. Deceased had been in poor health for years. Shelbina Democrat (Shelbina, MO), 1910-01-05, Page 8, Column 3 An Old Citizen Passes Away Robert Armstrong, father of Kize Armstrong near Shelbyville, died Saturday and was buried Sunday, the funeral being conducted by his pastor, Rev. F. E. Mosley, of Shelbyville. Mr. Armstrong was in his 75th year. He had been a great sufferer several years and was ready for the reward which awaits the devout. Of him the Shelbyville Herald says. "Deceased was one of the oldest citizens of Shelby county and was a good, honest and industrious man. Mr. Armstrong was born in Madison county, Ohio, Sept. 18, 1836 (sic). He was married to Elizabeth Cotton Sept. 1, 1853. To this union were born four children, all dying in infancy except one son, who still survives. His wife died ten years ago last October. He had been a member of the M. E. Church, South, for over 40 years, though he was unable on account of health to attend church the latter years of his life. He lived a consistent life and died in the faith. A good man has gone from us."
