Moomaw, 82, who passed away on Aug. 2, his 55th wedding anniversary. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Donna. He will be lovingly missed by his family and friends. Bob was born on Feb. 8, 1925, in Sidney, Iowa, to Herman and Ada Moomaw. After his parents' premature death, Bob was adopted by Herman's oldest brother, Glen Moomaw and his wife Irene of Lincoln, Neb. Bob attended the University of Nebraska. He also was a talented piano player and traveled with a band. He would work summers at various resorts in the Rocky Mountains and in Sun Valley, Idaho, hiking and skiing. Bob's love for outdoor recreation brought him to the Rocky Mountains and the University of Colorado to pursue his degree in physics. He worked summers in the Rocky Mountains as a park ranger in the Never Summer Range. He later worked for a construction firm on the Big Thompson Water Project. He was especially proud of the pipeline he helped build that feeds the Flatiron Power and Pumping Plant and can be seen in the foothills west of Loveland. Bob met his wife, Donna, in Estes Park and they moved to Denver, Colo., where they were married on Aug. 2, 1952. While in Denver, he worked as a bank loan officer and continued taking courses toward his degree at the University of Colorado. Bob, his wife, and children moved to Loveland in March 1960 when he was hired as the second employee of the new Loveland division of Hewlett-Packard. He retired in October 1986 after 26 years as an engineer in Hewlett-Packard's Research and Development Instrument Division. Bob was active in the Loveland community as a competitive golfer and member of the Loveland Men's Golf Association and as an avid bridge player. He also served on the Loveland Planning and Zoning Commission. Bob is survived by his daughter, Kathy Munoff and husband Sam of Denver; daughter Susie Trethewey and husband Jack of Loveland; daughter Cynthia Moomaw and husband Rob Jenison of Boulder; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Cremation has been completed. A private family inurnment will take place. Friends are invited to attend a reception in Bob's honor at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at Ristorante Damosso, 1120 N. Lincoln Ave., next door to Kibbey Fishburn Funeral Home. Contributions made in honor of Bob may be made to the Larimer Humane Society in care of Kibbey Fishburn Funeral Home.
