Mr. Hardin, a retired farmer, was born in Lyons, Greene County, May 23, 1892, the son of the late Joseph A. and Abigail (Sexson) Hardin, and widower of the late Nellie O. Hardin. He was a member of the Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church. Survivors are one son, Harry A. Hardin, Indianapolis; three sisters, Mrs. Fon (Blanche) Miller, Morristown, Mrs. Edna Ewing, Beech Grove, Mrs. W. W. (LaVaughn) Hardin, Morristown; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Hendryx Mortuaries, Greenfield Chapel, with the Revs. Scott Wood and Victor Stoner, co-officiating. Friends may call at the Hendryx Mortuaries Greenfield Chapel, after 4 p.m. on Thursday. --------------- OBITUARY, Rushville [IN] Republican, Thursday, March 1, 1973: Robert Basil Hardin, age 80, of Greenfield, who formerly lived on a farm near Arlington, died Wednesday in Hancock County Hospital. He was born at Lyons (Greene County) on May 23, 1892, the son of Joseph A. and Abigail Sexson Hardin, and was married to Nellie McMichael, who died in August in 1971. Mr. Hardin was a member of the Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church. Surviving are a son, Harry A. Hardin, of Indianapolis; three sisters, Mrs. Fon (Blanche) Miller and Mrs. W. W. (LaVaughn) Hardin of Morristown and Mrs. Edna Ewing of Beech Grove, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
