Description	:	Robert Benjamin Tanner, 73, of Simpsonville, SC passed away Monday, May 25, 2020 at his home after a year-long battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme. Bobby was born May 31, 1946 in Greenville County, SC. He was the son of the late Alfred David Tanner, Jr. and the late Mary Lou Wham Tanner. He was also predeceased by his brother, Alfred David Tanner III. Bobby was born May 31, 1946 in Greenville County, SC. He was the son of the late Alfred David Tanner, Jr. and the late Mary Lou Wham Tanner. He was also predeceased by his brother, Alfred David Tanner III. Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Jewell Tanner; two daughters Denise Tanner LaBeck and her husband Kevin of Greenville and Melissa Tanner Horn and her husband William II of Pelzer; a sister-in-law Linda Verdin Tanner of Ware Shoals; two nephews Billy Tanner and Robbie Tanner; and special lifelong friends Donnie Roberson and Randall Garrison and a group of special neighbors. Bobby was a retired electrician and farmer; he took great pride in his hay fields. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He was of Baptist faith and attended Clear Spring Baptist Church while he was well. Bobby loved his Lord Jesus Christ and his family. Bobby had a special bond with his wife , his best friend, who he shared hobbies with, and was the most supportive dad in his daughters’ interests. He loved animals and cared for his horses all his life. He loved rodeo and team roping, and was a large part of the team roping community for many years.Bobby was an inspiring and humble man with a big laugh and mischievous grin. He was a man of few words, but people took notice of what he said. He will be missed by many and was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
