He was born in Rison and had lived there most of his life. He owned and operated the Bert Harrison Cafe there for more than 30 years and had farming interest near Rison. Read More	Pine Bluff Commercial Wednesday, October 5, 1955 Bert Harrison Dies at his home in Rison Bert Harrison, 61, died at his home in Rison at 7 yesterday morning. He was born in Rison and had lived there most of his life. He owned and operated the Bert Harrison Cafe there for more than 30 years and had farming interest near Rison. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. He was married to Mollie Barbre of Pine Bluff. Survivors include his Wife, four sons, Robert of Hot Springs, Jessie and Billy of Pine Bluff and Walter George with the Air Force in the Phillippines; six grandchldren; one sister, Mrs. Mattie Doss of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla; and one brother, Merwyn of Lake Charles, LA. Funeral services will be held Suday at 2:30 p.m. at the Buie Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. J. P. Stockman officiating. Burial will be at the Rison (Greenwood) Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ray Vandermark, Johnnie Bob Hooks, Pete Mitchell, Eugene Wilson, Roy Martin, Ray Martin, Raymond Mays, and Buck Lain. Buie Funeral Home is in Charge of Arrangements.
