He was born Sep. 25, 1911, at Norfolk to the late Ralph and Inez (Satterlee) Boyd and graduated from Norfolk High School in 1930, after which he worked with his father in the R. W. Boyd and Son Sheet Metal Company. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army from December 1940 to September 1945. Afterward he returned to Norfolk and again worked with his father in the sheet metal company. Later, he was employed 23 years by Norfolk Regional Center until retiring in 1979. He was a member of IOOF Lodge and had been a volunteer fireman. He married Arletta Klug om May 31, 1941, at Little Rock, Ark. She survives as do one son and one daughter and their spouses, Keith and Mary Boyd, Carole and Ralph Horner, all of Russellville, Ark.; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Justin (Verna) Fauss, and Arlene Boyd, both of Norfolk. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. all spelling and punctuation as it appeared in the paper. (GH)
