Description	:	Orangeburg - Robert Burchell "Bobby" Shuler, 82, of Orangeburg, formerly of Elloree, passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec.r 9, 2018. He was the husband of the late Geraldine Rochester Shuler. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at Elloree United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Hope Avins and the Rev. Ryan Tucker officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service. On Aug. 11, 1936, Bobby was born to the late Harry Shingler Shuler and Thelma Stack Shuler. He graduated from Elloree High School and attended Clemson College and Wofford College. He returned to Elloree to farm with his father, growing cotton, corn and soybeans. He worked as a Realtor with Pat Williams Realty in Santee and also as a rural mail delivery carrier. Bobby had a love for the outdoors and in his earlier years could be found hunting, fishing, boating and spending time at the family pond. Mr. Shuler served as a docent for the Elloree Heritage Museum, where his prized piece of Indian pottery is proudly displayed. Bobby is survived by his daughters, Suzanne Shuler Robinson and her husband Daniel (Danny) Robinson of Lexington, and Melissa Shuler Summers and her husband Dwight (Chip) Summers Jr. of Orangeburg; four grandchildren, Spencer Catherine Robinson of Lexington, Daniel Martin Robinson Jr. of Greenville, Carolina Olivia Summers of Columbia, and Mary Stack Summers of Orangeburg; two sisters, Celia Shuler Ulmer (Jim) and Carol Shuler Walker, both of Mount Pleasant; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, parents, and brother Harry Shingler Shuler Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elloree Heritage Museum, P.O. Box 54, Elloree, SC 29047; or to Elloree United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 681, Elloree, SC 29047.
