Description	:	Robert C. "Bob" Madsen, age 94, of Watertown, SD, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, February 29, 2016 at Prairie Lakes Hospital. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 7, 2016 at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Watertown with Pastor Kent Stillson and Pastor Scott Dempster officiating. Robbyn Givens and Darian Givens will be the soloists accompanied by A.J. Sherrill. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown, and on Monday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at... Read More	Robert C. Robert Charles Madsen was born May 31, 1921 to Charles and Ruth (Knipfel) Madsen in Brandt, South Dakota. He grew up in Roslyn where he attended school. He joined the United States Army on February 4, 1943 and served during World War II. He was honorably discharged on April 4, 1946. Bob married Caroline M. Fornell on June 12, 1949 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Aberdeen, South Dakota. They resided in Watertown and Bob was employed at Western Area Power Administration as an electrical equipment mechanic. He enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, hunting, fishing, roller skating and working on vehicles. Robert is survived by his wife, Caroline; his children, Ronald (Rhonda) Madsen of Vail, AZ, James (Teresa) Madsen of Watertown, SD, Janet Geier of Galesville, WI, and Rebecca (Ted) Woodard of Galesville, WI, and James Robert (Amanda) Madsen of Sioux Falls, SD; 7 grandchildren, Carmen, Carrie, Jim, Sean, Amanda, Jamie and Chad; 10 great grandchildren, Landen, Tyler, Eli, Alanna, Easton, Corbin, Beth, Bailey, Michael and McKenzie; and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Mary Kay Madsen; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy (Henry) Hanson and Marion (Neill) Bunting; two brothers, Walter and Donald Madsen; and several aunts and uncles.
