He was born on July 26, 1921 in Monroe Township to Lester and Gladys (Cunningham) Watson' He moved to Summitville in 1936 and graduated from Summitville High school-Class of 1939. He served in the United States Army during World War II from 1942 to 1946 taking care of wounded veterans at the Army Hospital in Springfield Missouri. Watson, 95, Summitville, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from complications following surgery that was related to a fall at his residence. He was born on July 26, 1921 in Monroe Township to Lester and Gladys (Cunningham) Watson' He moved to Summitville in 1936 and graduated from Summitville High school-Class of 1939. He served in the United States Army during World War II from 1942 to 1946 taking care of wounded veterans at the Army Hospital in Springfield Missouri. He farmed on the same farm for more than 40 years retiring in 1990 then moving back to the same location that he and Velma started their life together on Mill Street in Summitville. Bob became the unofficial "Mayor" of Summitville. He and Velma were known for their early morning walks around town including a stop at the Circle K to report on their rain gauge reading in the past 24 hours and buy their daily newspaper. He had been a member of the Summitville Baptist Church since 1948 serving in almost every position in almost 70 years of membership. He also belonged to the Alexandria American Legion-Bright Post 78. Bob enjoyed working with his hands, especially around his home and yard. He was preceded in death by his parents, son-Reginald in 2014, brother-Harold Watson in 2014 and daughter in law Becky Watson in 2015
