Description	:	Robert Campbell, the son of Lyman and Caroline, was born at Wheeler's Grove, Pottawattamie county, Iowa, June 3, 1873. He was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by Elder Joshua Cantle in Underwood township, July 5, 1891. Read More	Robert Campbell, the son of Lyman and Caroline, was born at Wheeler's Grove, Pottawattamie county, Iowa, June 3, 1873. He was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by Elder Joshua Cantle in Underwood township, July 5, 1891. On March 10, 1901, he was married to Bertha Orme, of Villisca, Iowa. Into this home were born four children: Alta Marie, Robert Paul, of Vail, Iowa; Harvey Leonard, and Ina Almeda. Mr. Campbell lived in Pottawatamie county near Council Bluffs for the larger portion of his life. On March 1, 1923, he moved to a farm near Lamoni. The motive back of this move was that his children might have the opportunities in church and school that he desired for them, and which they have enjoyed together so much during the last nine years. His church and family interests have proved to be the dominating ones in his life. During the three years previous to his coming to Lamoni, he served as superintendent of a mission of the church organized at McClelland, Iowa. On February 1. 1923, he was ordained a teacher in the Lamoni branch by Evangelist Richard Baldwin and Apostle J. F. Garver. Since January 19, 1930, he had served as president of the teachers' quorum in the Lamoni stake. From May 1928, until his death, he was pastor of the Lone Rock branch. There his work has been outstanding for his persistence, dependability, and consideration of his people. He has not enjoyed his usual health and vigor for the past three years, and after a very brief illness passed away at his home, June 11, 1932, at the age of 59 years and 8 days. Surviving besides his wife and four children are his brother, George W., of McClelland, Iowa; and two sisters, Mrs. Almeda Bamford, of Woodbine, Iowa; and Mrs. Caroline Smith, of Logan, Iowa. A sister preceded him in infancy and two brothers later in life. Robert Campbell was one or mese members of our rural and community life, whose staunch support of his moral convictions, willingness to serve in unassuming ways, and quiet, stable faith have made him a good neighbor and servant of his church and people.
