Description	:	Robert C. "Bob" Thomas of Anaconda died at the Community Hospital Monday afternoon, Jan. 2, 2006. Bob was born Feb.12, 1929, the son of Fred and Angela (Greene) Thomas. Bob attended St. Paul's grade school and St. Peter's High School. He joined the Navy Reserve his senior year of high school and the regular Navy in 1948, where he served five years and was a veteran of the Korean War. In 1958, Bob married Shirley M. "Bob" Thomas of Anaconda died at the Community Hospital Monday afternoon, Jan. 2, 2006. Bob was born Feb.12, 1929, the son of Fred and Angela (Greene) Thomas. Bob attended St. Paul's grade school and St. Peter's High School. He joined the Navy Reserve his senior year of high school and the regular Navy in 1948, where he served five years and was a veteran of the Korean War. In 1958, Bob married Shirley M. Viall of Miles City. They celebrated 47 years of marriage last September. He was blessed with three daughters, Carol Lynette, Jonna Kay and Lora Jean, who adored and loved him dearly and felt truly fortunate to call him "daddy." Bob's family continued to grow with the addition of devoted sons-in-law, Rocky Monroe, Chuck Brenton and Les Holland. He was especially proud of his grandchildren, Lance and Lacie Brenton and Maclain Holland. Bob is survived by his six brothers, Lawrence, Richard, Donald, Eugene, William and Jerald. His sister, Audrey June Bjornemo, preceded him in death as well as his parents, Fred and Angela. Bob was a journeyman electrician for 36 years and retired from IBEW in 1993. He was a member of the Anaconda Elks Lodge for over 49 years, the Anaconda Elks drum and bugle corps, and a member of the American Legion Post 21. Some of Bob's favorite memories were the times he spent fishing with his dad and brothers, snowmobiling in the winter, and camping in the summer with friends and family. After retirement, Bob took up golfing and enjoyed many games with his good friends. Bob belonged to a very close family. Countless good times were shared with his brothers, sisters-in-law, and his many nieces and nephews. Bob as a husband, dad, poppa, brother, and friend was a very gentle and loving man, with a good sense of humor. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Anaconda Elks Club. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Drury as the celebrant. Inurnment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery with military honors. Services and cremation are under the care of the KT Riddle Funeral Homes.
