Description	:	Page News & Courier, Thursday 6 Nov 1952 Robert Casper Turner, 81, life-long resident of the Newport community, passed away at his home at 7:40 p.m., on Friday, October 31. Mr. Turner had been in failing health for the past few years. The deceased was born on May 10, 1871, and was a son of the late Andrew and Rebecca Nauman Turner. He was a retired farmer and had been a faithful member of the Newport Christian Church since 1909. Mr. Turner had been in failing health for the past few years. The deceased was born on May 10, 1871, and was a son of the late Andrew and Rebecca Nauman Turner. He was a retired farmer and had been a faithful member of the Newport Christian Church since 1909. Miss Pamley Alger was united in marriage with Mr. Turner in early life and she preceded him in death in 1927. One of sixteen children, Mr. Turner is survived by one brother, Grant Turner, of New Market, and the following children: Ashby L. (Simon) Turner, Herbert M. Turner, Willie A. Turner and Samuel L. Turner, all of Stanley, and Mrs. Mamie Calhoon, of New Market. Also surviving are twenty-six grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. One son and one daughter preceded him in death. At the funeral held Monday at eleven o'clock from the Newport Church with Rev. R.E. Newton, officiating. Rev. J.W. Aleshire and Rev. John Henderson assisted the pastor. Interment was in the Alger Cemetery at Battle Creek.
