He was born March 16, 1945 in Fremont, Neb. son of Charles Wesley and Loriene Grace Sloma High. He married Mary Lee Jurgensen in1965. Two children were born to this union. The couple later divorced. He was born March 16, 1945 in Fremont, Neb. son of Charles Wesley and Loriene Grace Sloma High. He married Mary Lee Jurgensen in1965. Two children were born to this union. The couple later divorced. He married Diane Slessor June 8, 1996 in Waterloo. Robert was a graduate of Friend High School in 1963. He was in the U.S. Navy from 1963 to 1968. He served as a Navy Corpsman and Pharmacy Tech in Vietnam. He received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln in 1972 and his MBA in 1983. He was a member of Rotary International and Faith Lutheran Church. While he was in Waterloo, he was employed with Countryview and had worked for sixteen years as the administrator at Ravenwood. He was a nursing home administrator most of his adult life working to establish david place in David City, NE in 1976. He also served at Tabitha in Lincoln, Denver, CO, North Platte, NE, Fort Dodge, Iowa and Creston, Iowa. Survivors include his wife; a son, Rob (Anh) of Dakota Dunes, SD; a daughter, Lori (Doug) of Columbus, NE; grandchildren Thomas High and Mary High; Nehemiah Peters, Elijah Peters, Hananiah Peters and Caleb Peters, and his sister Nancy Kasl of Lincoln, NE; and his nieces and nephews. Services will be 10:30 Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church, where full military rites will be conducted by Evansdale Amvets Post 31, Waterloo Amvets Post 19 and the U. S. Navy Honor Guard. Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Zastrow Cemetery, Cordova, Neb. Public visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday at Hagarty – Waychoff – Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and at the church for an hour before services on Tuesday.
