Goode, 70, of Troy died March 27, 1994, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center after an automobile accident south of Ottumwa. He was born Dec. 27, 1923, in Blakesburg to Cyril and Edith Shirar Goode. A resident of the Blakesburg area most of his life, he farmed and had been a sales manager for Vermeer Implement. He is survived by two daughters, Diane Bednar of Galesburg, Ill., and Nancy Loy of Wichita, Kan.; two sons, Roger Goode of Ottumwa and Monte Goode of Fort Collins, Colo.; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; three brothers, Ora of Las Vegas, Darl of Arizona and Ronald Goode of Blakesburg; and two sisters, Helen Gates of Ottumwa and Elaine Steele of Chula Vista, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents. The service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, the Rev. Wilbert Trusheim of Willard Street United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation is open after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to American Lung Association. Pallbearers will be Kurt, Duane, Greg and Van Gates and Matthew, Mark and Bill Goode.
