He worked as a gas controller at Elkam Metals and Union Carbide in Ashtabula, Ohio, where he retired from after 35 years. Bob enjoyed buying and selling antiques with his wife Darla. He was a member of the American Legion, Saybrook Grange and the VFW. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Darla Mae Anderson, of 40 years, whom he married on February 13, 1953; son, Mark Anderson; and sister June Townsend. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 11 AM at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Ashtabula, OH where he will be laid to rest next to his wife and son. Pastor Samara Jenkins will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, http://ww5.komen.org, Susan G. Komen 5005 L.B.J.
