Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pleasanton with the Rev. Martin Egging officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Pleasanton. Rasmussen Funeral Home in Ravenna is in charge of arrangements. He was born Dec. 5, 1927, on the family farm near Riverdale to Herman and Leota (Hollinger) Busch. On Aug. 26, 1952, he married Rita Paitz. Survivors include his wife; son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Bonnie Busch of Pleasanton; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Ron Schwab of Grand Island, Judy and Frank Kucera of Litchfield and Amy and Steve Altmaier of Kearney; grandchildren, Mark Schwab and his wife, Michelle, Mitch Schwab and his wife, Jolene, Luke Kucera and his wife, Jamie, Seth Kucera and his wife, Angie, Sara Arnold and her husband, Sean, Shannon Busch, Ryan Busch and Jake Altmaier and fiancée, Heather; 12 great-grandchildren; and sister, LaVaghn Nickman. He attended grade school at District 26 and graduated from Pleasanton High School in 1945. He loved farming and was able to stay on the farm his whole life, the last 61 years with the love of his life. In 1962, Robert lost his arms in a farm accident. With the help of his family and friends, he continued to farm. Robert greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and in the later years, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Melvin.
