[18 paragraphs and 2 photographs of the accident omitted] Robert Darrell Crose, was born March 30, 1919, at Oquawka, Ill., the son of Edd G. and Myrtle Catterson Crose. He had resided in Muscatine for the past 20 years. His marriage to Patricia Thorne took place in Cedar Rapids, Ia., in November of 1940. Mr. Crose served in the Coast Guard for six years during World War II. He was a cook by profession. Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Myrtle Barnes of Muscatine; his divoriced wife; one son, Richard Allen Crose of Chambersburg, Pa.; a half-brother, Donnal Maples of Monmouth, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Hubert Sorrells, Oakland, Calif.; and two half-sisters, Mrs. C.N. Neiberger of Canton, Ill., and Mrs. Fred Schneider, Jr., of West Liberty. His father and one sister preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at the Geo. M. Witlich Funeral home at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. R. R. Shirk, pastor of the First Baptist church to officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
