Description	:	Robert "Rock'n Bob" Ferrie, 75, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota fell into the arms of Jesus at his home the morning of November 6, 2021, after a courageous 16 year battle with esophageal cancer. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 13, 2021, at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, Sioux Falls. Graveside services with military honors will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 15, 2021, at the South Dakota State Veterans Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation to the Humane Society. Bob was born on October 23, 1946, to Wilbur "Bus" and Opal (Johansen) Ferrie. Bob grew up in Sioux Falls in the infamous "north end". He graduated from Washington High in 1965. He went into the Air Force in his early 20's and was stationed at Volk Air Force base in Camp Douglas, Wisconsin. Bob was very well known in the music industry having been in many bands in the Sioux Falls area. He was most recently inducted into the South Dakota Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Some of his favorite pastimes were camping, fishing and hunting. Grateful to have shared his life are his wife of 41 years, Lynn of Sioux Falls; his son, Corey (Jennifer) of Minneapolis, MN; his brothers, Duane of LeMars, IA, Terrill (Denise) Ferrie, Kevin (Sharri) Ferrie, Geoff (Erin) Gunderson all of Sioux Falls, Warren (Deb); sisters, Linda and Julie Gunderson, sister-in-law, Dorothy Holmbeck, Sioux Falls. Also grateful for sharing his life are his sisters-in-law, Julie Horner (Michael Valdieck) of Mazomanie, WI, Therese Horner and Mindy Horner of Sioux Falls, Jean (Dave) Case of Watertown, SD, Mary (Dan) Ward, Bryant, SD; and brother-in-law, Scott (Nancy) Horner of Corona, CA; and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Last, but not least, his beloved dogs, Benson and Bridget. Bob loved and was loved by all dogs. Bob was preceded in death by his father and mother, brother Gordy Gunderson, his father and mother-in-law Roland (Whiz) and Rosalie Horner and brother-in-law Craig Horner. - George Boom Funeral Home
