Description	:	Robert Dwight Clause, Sr., the son of Alfred Raymond Clause and Mary Elisabeth Gonder Clause, was born August 24, 1920, on a farm in Greene County, Iowa. Read More	Robert Dwight Clause, Sr., the son of Alfred Raymond Clause and Mary Elisabeth Gonder Clause, was born August 24, 1920, on a farm in Greene County, Iowa. He lived and worked the majority of his life on the farm where he was born. He died October 1, 2010 at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry, Iowa at the age of 90. Bob graduated from Grand Junction High School and went on to get his degree at Iowa State College, where he was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. He served in WWII in the United States Navy, from which he was honorably discharged. He later came back to Grand Junction to farm. On November 25, 1954, Bob married Dena Anderson at the First United Methodist Church in Grand Junction. To this union were born Joy, Jill, Robert Jr., and an infant son and daughter. Bob stayed very active with many local, state and national organizations. He was a choir member at the First United Methodist Church for over 65 years; a Lion's Club member for 60 years and he received the highest Lion's award, the Melvin Jones Fellow; and a Mason for over 50 years. He was also on the Greene County Fair Board, the Greene County Extension Council, and the State Extension Council. He spent many years on the Beaver Cemetery Board, was a 4-H leader, and is in the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame. Bob received the Governor's award for volunteerism. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; an infant daughter, Leesa; a brother Gerald; sisters Marietta, Elisabeth, and infant Ramona. Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dena Clause of Grand Junction, Iowa; daughters Joy (Don) Burgoyne of Saint Paul Park, Minnesota; Jill (John) Anderson of Huxley, Iowa; son Rob (Joyce) Clause of Murray, Kentucky; grandchildren Ksenia, Elena, Nikolay Burgoyne; Kae, Julie Anderson; and Hannalore, Nate Clause; 2 great grandchildren; brother Roger (Dorothy) Clause of Jefferson, Iowa; sister Margene Miller of Federal Way, Washington; sister-in-law Jean Clause of Jefferson; brother-in-law Eldon Schroder of Sioux City; other relatives and many friends. Funeral Services for Robert Dwight Clause, Sr., 90, of Grand Junction, Iowa were held at 4:30 pm Monday, October 4, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Grand Junction. Interment is in Beaver Cemetery, Beaver, Iowa. The family greeted friends following the funeral service. Memorials were suggested to the 4-H Foundation, First United Methodist Church of Grand Junction or the Lion's Club and may be left at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home.
