Drew, 87 years of age, of Houston, TX., formerly of Beatrice, NE. passed away at the East Regional Medical Center in Houston, TX. Monday night, December 30, 2002. He was born on January 4, 1915 in Beatrice, NE. and was a 1932 graduate of Beatrice High School. He and Delores "Dode" Harmon were married on March 15, 1938 in Beatrice, NE. He was employed by Store Kraft Manufacturing Co. in 1933 and moved to St. Louis, MO. in 1939 as Sales Engineer until 1943. He was a Fixture and Construction Manager for Butler Brothers in St. Louis from 1943 until 1948 and was Sales Manager for ABC Store Fixture Co. in Kansas City, MO. from 1948-1954. He then returned to work for Store Kraft Mfg. as a Sales Engineer in Lancaster, Ohio until 1975 when he took early retirement. He and his wife returned to live in Beatrice, NE. and were co-owners of Loper Fabric Store with his brother Paul Drew and his wife Dorrice until they sold the business and retired in 1988. He was a member of the Christ Church Episcopal in Beatrice, NE. and was a Master Mason at the Beatrice Lodge #26, A.F. & A.M. and received his 50 year pin in 1993. He was a member of the Knights Templar, Masonic Lodge in Lancaster, Ohio since 1965. He was a past member of the Lodge #619, B.P.O. Elks, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #531 and the Country Club, all in Beatrice, NE. He enjoyed golfing. Survivors include his daughter, Vicki Stebelton of Houston, TX.; 2 sons, Dr. Stephen Drew and his wife Diane of Circleville, Ohio, and Douglas Drew and his wife Jennifer of Sequim, WA.; grandchildren Mark Stebelton, Pamela Murray, Douglas Stebelton, Jeff Stebelton, Anne Drew, Heidi Drew, and Grady Drew; and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Purley and Maude (Awtry) Drew; wife Delores "Dode" Drew in 1992; sister Theresa Foulk; and brother Paul Drew. Memorial services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 6, 2003 at the Christ Church Episcopal in Beatrice, NE. with Father Jonathan T. Ford officiating. Private family burial will be held in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice, NE. There is no public viewing. A register book will be available for signatures at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice, NE. from 10-5:00 Saturday and 12:00 - 5:00 Sunday. A memorial has been established to the Christ Church Episcopal Foundation with Bill Boyce in charge. Messages of condolence may be sent to [email protected] They will be forwarded to the family. The Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice is in charge of the services.
