Showman, 88, of Napoleon, Ohio passed away surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Northcrest Nursing and Rehab in Napoleon, Ohio. He was born on January 07, 1928 in Napoleon, Ohio to the late Raymond and Edna (Gaede) Showman. On October 26, 1946 he married Dolores "Dee" Washington at Emanuel Lutheran Chapel. She preceded him in death on May 10, 2007. Robert owned and operated Bob's Friendly Service, a family business, for 45 years and retired in 1988. After his retirement, he worked for the City of Napoleon for 10 years doing mowing and maintenance work. For 14 years he wintered in Port Charlotte, Florida. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and belonged to the Chamber of Commerce. Robert enjoyed bowling, dart ball, golfing, fishing and he had a love for cars. He also enjoyed sitting on his front porch listening to the Detroit Tiger's games. He is survived by his children, Robert D. (Susan) Showman of Weatherford, Texas and Betty (Terry) Fahy of Tega Cay, South Carolina; grandchildren, Matthew (Liao Sha) Showman of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Brianne (Jacob) Brown of Chandler, Arizona, Amy (Jason) White of Rhome, Texas, Maggie (John) Lakebrink of Weatherford, Texas, Erin (Nick) Tallent of Tega Cay, South Carolina, Patrick Fahy of Charlotte, North Carolina; great grandchildren, Jamieson, Dillon, Keira, Ashlyn, Barnabas, Amos, Max, Dexter, Emma, and Cutter; sisters, Arlene (Lee) Miller of McClure, Ohio and Barb (Duane) Haselman of Hamler, Ohio; and special nieces, Sandy Johnson and Connie Cobb, along with many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings, Burdette, Larry, Ron, and Kenny Showman, Carolyn Talmage, and Marlene Downey. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Napoleon, Ohio. Interment will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens.
