Read More	Parents James White & Myrtle McMillian Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, March 1, 1951 Robert White Killed In Accident Robert White, well-known Big Bend dairy rancher and a prominent Flying Farmer, was killed instantly in a tractor accident at his ranch about noon Tuesday. Dr. W. H. Sweet of Ritzville, who was called to the White farm in the Crab Creek area, told the Journal-Times, White apparently was using his wheel-type tractor to haul timbers needed for repairing a wooden bridge when the tragedy occurred. Dr. Sweet said the tractor apparently rolled on its side into a sluiceway, part of White's irrigation system, and tipped over. White fell beneath the tractor, according to Dr. Sweet, and was killed instantly with a broken neck. The doctor said White's wife, Anna, discovered the accident when the ranched failed to return home for lunch and she drove to where he was working about a quarter mile from the ranch house. Mrs. Henry Rehn apparently was the first person in Ritzville to learn of the accident. She received a phone call from one of White's daughters, Vivian, who was attempting to contact his other daughter, Evelyn, a receptionist in Dr. Sweet's office. Eveyln is engaged to the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rehn. White would have been 47 years old his March 16. He operated a dairy farm in the Crab Creek area. Thank you Sue Gardner for this transcription. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, March 8, 1951 Funeral Held Here For White Funeral services for Flying Farmer Robert White were conducted here earlier this week. White was killed that Thursday in a tractor accident on his Crab Creek dairy farm. Rieker died Sunday in the Ritzville General hospital. Four airplanes piloted by Flying Farmers from Okanogan and Omak flew overhead during graveside services Monday afternoon at Ritzville Memorial cemetery as White, secretary of the state Flying Farmers association, was buried. Funeral rites had been conducted at Danekas and Duncan funeral home for the 45-year-old aviation enthusiast, with the Rev. Alfred Carter officiating. His survivors include the widow, Anna, two daughters, Evelyn and Vivienne, a son, Gilbert; a half-brother, Lloyd Milliken of Seattle; his mother, Mrs. Ed Stuller of Standwood; and his foster mother, Mrs. Alvina Wolfe.
