CUDD PASSES AT HOME; SERVICES TODAY Last Rites to Be Conducted at 11:30 a.m. for Pioneer Spartan Resident Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 o'clock this morning at the J. F. Floyd mortuary for Robert Edgar Cudd, 73, well known Spartanburg resident who died at his home on South Church street early yesterday morning. The services will be conducted by Dr. E. Gibson Davis, pastor of the First Baptist church, of which the deceased was a member. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Members of Spartan and the St. John's Masonic lodges and deacons of the First Baptist church are requested to meet at the church at 11 :10 o'clock to form the honorary escort. Active pallbearers will be Gregg Galbraith, Dr. P.B. Hair, B.C. Lankford, C.H. Bogen, T.K. Hudgens, Roy Leonard, E.W. Miller and D.W. Hendrix. Mr Cudd was born in Spartanburg county, April 30, 1868, the son of the late James A. and Cordelia Bryant Cudd. He was educated in the local schools and attended Wofford Fitting school. Following completion of a business course in Atlanta, he returned to Spartanburg and entered business in 1889. Hor many years he was associated in business with his brother, the late A. Perry Cudd. In 1894 Mr. Cudd was marries to the late Miss Tallulah Leonard. In 1917 he was married to the late Miss Nancy Bennett. In 1920 he was married to Miss Lila Maud Willis. Surviving are his wife, a son, Robert Leonard Cudd, of New York City; a daughter, Mrs. Tallulah Burnett, of this city, both children of his first marriage; also, two grandchildren, Jackson Burnett, Jr., and Wendy Lee Cudd; three brothers, W.T. Cudd, and Dr. A.D. Cudd of Spartanburg and H.E. Cudd of Gastonia, N.C. For about 50 years Mr. Cudd was a member of the First Baptist church and for many years was a member of the board of deacons. He was a member of Spartan Lodge, No. 70, A.F.M., the Commandery of the Knights of the Templar and of the Hejaz Temple of the Shriners at Greenville. He was also a charter member of the Easter (sic) star and of the Woodmen of the World.
