| Description | : | Shorty died of complications of a stroke Tuesday at State Center Manor in State Center. He had lived in Rhodes all his life. He was a retired production worker with Fisher Controls and enjoyed fishing and traveling. He and his wife farmed for several years. From 1949 to 1950 they owned and operated a restaurant in Rhodes, in a building on the east side of Main Street (now torn down) called the Coffee Cup Cafe.
